VALLE DEL SOLE
Valle del Soleis a small but established reality of the Lucca hills. The winery is located in the “Cappella” on the road that leads from Lucca to Monte Magno and then Viareggio. Cappella is a very particular micro-zone for the cultivation of vines and the production of wine, characterized by a considerable temperature range and constant ventilation. These factors, together with the favorable exposure of the vineyards to sunlight, ensure the vegetative balance of the plant suitable for the production of wine, which can be explained in a slow but constant ripening of the grapes. The vineyard property is located at an altitude of about 100 meters above sea level and is characterized by gentle slopes leading to the valley. The wines of the Valle del Sole, all with a Typical Geographical Indication, are characterized by a harmonious union between the so-called international character and the link with the territory from which they come.
The company is located in Lucca in the north-west of Tuscany, in the “Cappella” on the road that leads from Lucca to Monte Magno and then Viareggio. It covers an area of 10 hectares planted with vineyards and olive groves in a valley where it is still possible to live on a human scale. Lucca is about 7 Km away
Excellent area from a morphological point of view located between the Tyrrhenian coast and the Apuan Alps crossed by the Serchio river and the Freddana stream. The climate varies greatly depending on whether the influence of the mountains or the Mediterranean prevails. Winters are generally mild and springs are early. The Apuan Alps influence the climate with abundant rainfall well distributed throughout the year. The Tirreno Sea, on the other hand, gives this area an excellent amount of light in order to guarantee good photosynthetic activity throughout the vegetative cycle of the plant. It also offers good constant ventilation throughout the year, which allows a considerable daily temperature range. The vineyards extend over different types of soil: in the hilly part the Tuscan boulder prevails, consisting of clayey sandstones rich in minerals that give rise to red wines of good power and longevity. In the plains the soils are sandy-silty with an abundance of skeleton and this is the area of excellence for the production of white wines of great longevity.
The management of the vineyards is carried out according to the organic production disciplinary by resorting to the use of biodynamic techniques..
All this allows you to create a strong bond between man and the earth that guarantees excellent soil fertility and product quality. This valley is very particular for the cultivation of vines thanks to the proximity of the Tirreno Sea which guarantees an excellent vegetative balance of the plant for the quantity of light and fresh and constant ventilation, characterized by a considerable temperature range between day and night The quality of the soil, the climate and the position of a splendid hill wedged between the sea and the mountains and the use of biodynamic agriculture which creates a link between man and the vineyard, maintaining fertile land and product quality are crucial.
The company follows the philosophy of Bio and Biodynamic agriculture, managing its production while respecting nature in its rhythms, in its harmony and balance. A choice that has matured over the years. The stages: in 1991 Renato buys the property and begins his adventure as a winemaker. In 1994 he planted new native and international vines. 1999 marks an important date, the company’s cru is born: Ebrius. In 2003 Marco arrives who, learning from Renato, begins his career in the company. In 2010 they expand the surface of the vineyard and Valle del Sole becomes Organic. In 2014 another important step: the choice to follow the principles of Biodynamics. But the vineyard does not stop, it continues its expansion in 2015 with a new Sangiovese plant. In 2016 pure Trebbiano was born: H’Ama. In 2018 another expansion, with a new plant of white grape varieties. Finally, in 2019 the rosé with Sangiovese grapes was born: Occhi di Fata.

Valle del Sole è una piccola ma affermata realtà delle colline lucchesi. L’Azienda di vini è ubicata nella frazione “Cappella” sulla strada che da Lucca porta verso il Monte Magno e quindi Viareggio. La Cappella è una microzona molto particolare per la coltivazione della vite e la produzione di vino, caratterizzata da una notevole escursione termica e da una ventilazione costante. Questi fattori, unitamente alla favorevole esposizione dei vigneti alla luce solare, garantiscono l’equilibrio vegetativo della pianta atta alla produzione del vino, esplicabile in una lenta ma costante maturazione delle uve. La proprietà vitata si trova a un’altitudine di circa 100 metri sul livello del mare ed é caratterizzata da dolci declivi che portano alla valle. I vini della Valle del Sole, tutti a indicazione Geografica Tipica, si caratterizzano per un’armoniosa unione tra il cosiddetto carattere internazionale e il legame con il territorio da cui provengono.
L’azienda è ubicata a Lucca nel nord-ovest della Toscana, nella frazione “Cappella” sulla strada che da Lucca porta verso il Monte Magno e quindi Viareggio. Si estende su una superficie di 10 ettari coltivati a vigneto e oliveto in una valle dove è ancora possibile vivere a misura d’uomo. Lucca dista circa 7 Km
Zona ottima da un punto di vista morfologico collocata tra la costa tirrenica e le Apuane attraversata dal fiume Serchio e dal torrente Freddana. Il clima ha una forte variabilità a seconda che prevalga l’influenza delle montagne oppure quella mediterranea . Gli inverni generalmente sono miti e le primavere precoci. Le Apuane influenzano il clima con abbondante piovosità ben distribuita nel corso dell’anno. Il mar Tirreno invece regala a questa zona una ottima quantità di luce in modo da garantire una buona attività fotosintetica durante tutto il ciclo vegetativo della pianta. Inoltre offre una buona ventilazione costante per tutto l’anno , che permette una notevole escursione termica giornaliera. I vigneti si estendono su diverse tipologie di suolo : nella parte collinare prevale il macigno Toscano, costituito da Arenarie Argillose ricche di minerali che danno origine a vini rossi di buona potenza e longevità. In pianura i suoli sono sabbio-limosi con abbondanza di scheletro è questa la zona di eccellenza per la produzione di vini bianchi di grande serbevolezza.
La gestione dei vigneti avviene seguendo il disciplinare di produzione biologica facendo ricorso all’impiego di tecniche biodinamiche.Tutto questo consente di creare un forte legame tra l’uomo e la terra che garantisce una ottima fertilità dei suoli e la qualità dei prodotti. Questa valle è molto particolare per la coltivazione della vite grazie alla vicinanza del mar Tirreno che garantisce un ottimo equilibrio vegetativo della pianta per quantità di luce e ventilazione fresca e costante, caratterizzata da una notevole escursione termica tra giorno e notte. Sono determinanti la qualità del terreno, il clima e la posizione di una splendida collina incastrata tra mare e montagne e l’impiego dell’agricoltura biodinamica che crea un legame tra l’uomo e la vigna, mantenendo terra fertile e qualità dei prodotti.
L’azienda segue la filosofia dell’agricoltura Bio e Biodinamica, gestendo la sua produzione rispettando la natura nei suoi ritmi, nella sua armonia e nei suoi equilibri. Una scelta che matura nel corso degli anni. Le tappe: nel 1991 Renato acquista la proprietà ed inizia la sua avventura come vignaiolo. Nel 1994 impianta nuovi vitigni sia autoctoni che internazionali. Il 1999 segna una data importante, nasce il cru dell’azienda : l’Ebrius. Nel 2003 arriva Marco che, apprendendo da Renato, inizia il suo percorso in azienda. Nel 2010 ampliano la superficie del vigneto e Valle del Sole diventa Biologica. Nel 2014 un’altra tappa importante: la scelta di seguire i principi della Biodinamica. Ma la vigna non si verma, prosegue la sua espansione nel 2015 con un nuovo impianto di Sangiovese. Nel 2016 nasce il Trebbiano in purezza: l’H’Ama. Nel 2018 ancora un’espansione, con un nuovo impianto di vitigni a bacca bianca. Infine nel 2019 nasce il rosato con uve Sangiovese: Occhi di Fata.
